While the West prepares itself to open up doors of negotiation with the government of Iran and despite the eerie silence of the Western media, more than 10000 Iranians gathered in front of the United Nations Headquarters in New York City on September 23, 2009 to voice their objection to the presence of Mahmood Ahmadinejad as the president of Iran and to call for an end to mass arrests and executions.
Unfortunately, the demonstrators' demands to hold the Islamic Republic of Iran and its administrations accountable for crimes against humanity for the last thirty years have for the most part been ignored by the media; however, this photo report (along with many others already posted on different sites and blogs) bears witness to the strong and marvelous presence of Iranians from all over the world who came to New York City to show their dissent and to stand in solidarity with their compatriots inside Iran.
